King of Prussia – Motorists will face weekend and weeknight lane closures on Route 202 between the Westtown Road and Paoli Pike interchanges in Westtown and West Goshen townships, Chester County, over the next week (July 16-25) for road construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today.

The contractor’s schedule is:

• From 10 p.m. tonight (July 16) to 5 a.m. Sunday (July 18), northbound and southbound Route 202 will be reduced to one lane between Paoli Pike and Westtown Road for concrete patching;

• On Wednesday and Thursday (July 21-22) from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning, northbound and southbound Route 202 will be reduced to one lane between Westtown Road and Paoli Pike for saw cutting areas of deteriorated concrete pavement; and

• From 10 p.m. Friday, July 23 to 5 a.m. Sunday, July 25, northbound and southbound Route 202 will be reduced to one lane from Paoli Pike to Westtown Road for patching deteriorated concrete.

PennDOT advises drivers to allow themselves additional time for travel along Route 202 during construction because backups will occur.

This work is part of PennDOT’s $19,377,081 project to rehabilitate and improve 4.3 miles of Route 202 between the Route 100 Interchange and High Street in Chester County. The project is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

Allan A. Myers, LP of Worcester, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the federally-funded project, which is scheduled to finish in Dec. 2011.
