• LANE CLOSURES ON US 202 IN MONTCO AND BUCKS
Monday, December 13, 2010

King of Prussia – With utility work and road widening continuing for the ongoing construction of the southern connection to the new Route 202 Parkway in Montgomery County, motorists will face single-lane conditions when traveling next week on Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) and Route 63 (Welsh Road) in Upper Gwynedd, Lower Gwynedd and Montgomery townships, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said today.

Flaggers will direct an alternating single lane of traffic Monday through Friday (Dec. 13-17) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) between Sumneytown Pike and Route 63 (Welsh Road) during utility placement operations.

Periodic lane closures and brief stoppages also will occur on Route 63 (Welsh Road) Monday through Friday (Dec. 13-17) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for widening between Stump Road and Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) at the future connection with the Parkway.

Motorists also may encounter lane closures on Monday through Friday (Dec. 13-17) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) between Route 63 (Welsh Road) and Knapp Road.

In Warrington and New Britain townships, Bucks County, daytime single-lane conditions may be in place on Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) between Stump Road and Route 202 (Butler Avenue) and on Upper State Road between County Line Road and Pickertown Road on Monday through Friday (Dec. 13-17) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for road widening.

Drivers should anticipate delays at each work zone and are advised to add extra time for travel through these areas. The work schedule is dependent on the weather.

These operations are part of PennDOT’s $200 million project to build the nine-mile long Route 202 Parkway in Bucks and Montgomery counties and its $17.7 million project to widen and improve Route 202 between Hancock Road and Route 309.
