• LIMITED TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS FOR US 202 PARKWAY

King of Prussia - Motorists in Montgomery and Bucks counties will encounter limited travel restrictions next week (July 2-6) along Route 202 and Route 309 for paving and traffic signal work for the construction of the $200 million Route 202 Parkway, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said today.

The new 8.4 mile roadway is scheduled to open this fall and bring improved travel for motorists along the Route 202 Corridor between Montgomeryville and Doylestown.

Motorists may find periodic, short-term lane closures at intersections on Route 202 (Doylestown Road/Butler Avenue) between Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) in Montgomery Township and Route 611 in Doylestown Township on Monday and Friday (July 2 and July 6) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for installation of traffic signal equipment.

On Monday and Friday (July 2 and July 6), travelers along Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) may encounter lane closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for similar traffic signal work at intersections between Five Points in Montgomery Township and Route 63 (Welsh Road) in Lower Gwynedd Township.

Paving on Monday and Tuesday (July 2-3) at the intersection of Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) and Route 63 (Welsh Road) may result in travel delays on both roads approaching the intersection from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

In addition, ongoing work to widen the intersection has temporarily eliminated turn lanes on Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) and Route 63 (Welsh Road) and may cause slowdowns for motorists approaching the intersection through the remainder of next week. Turn lanes are expected to be restored during the week of July 9.
