King of Prussia - A short holiday work week will find limited activity across the Route 202 Parkway construction area, with mid-week lane closures scheduled in Montgomery County but no lane restrictions in Bucks County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today.
In Upper Gwynedd, Lower Gwynedd and Montgomery townships Montgomery County, motorists will encounter slow-moving traffic and lane closures on Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) between Swedesford Road and Route 63 (Welsh Road) on Tuesday through Thursday (Dec. 27-29) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for road widening and curb construction.
Occasional lane closures also may occur on Route 63 (Welsh Road) between Stump Road and Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) on Tuesday through Thursday (Dec. 27-29) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for the installation of drainage pipes and inlets.
No construction-related lane closures will be in place from Dec. 23 through Dec. 26 and from Dec. 30 through Jan. 2, 2012.
Drivers should anticipate delays and add extra time for travel through the construction areas. All planned activities are contingent on the weather.
PennDOT is investing more than $200 million in state funds to build the nine-mile long Route 202 Parkway in Bucks and Montgomery counties and to improve roads approaching the Parkway’s entrances.
