King of Prussia - Motorists in Bucks and Montgomery counties will encounter post-holiday travel restrictions next week (Nov. 28-Dec. 2) on several area roads for Route 202 Parkway construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said today.
In New Britain and Warrington townships, Bucks County, drivers will find periodic lane closures with flaggers on Monday through Friday (Nov. 28-Dec. 2) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for widening at the following locations:
• Upper State Road between County Line and Pickertown roads;
• Lower State Road between Almshouse and Wells roads; and
• Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) between Stump Road and Route 202 (Butler Avenue).
Pickertown Road in Warrington Township remains closed and detoured between Stump and Upper State roads until mid-2012 for construction of a bridge over the Parkway.
In Montgomery County, drivers in Upper Gwynedd, Lower Gwynedd and Montgomery townships will encounter occasional single-lane conditions with flaggers on Monday through Friday (Nov. 28-Dec. 2) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) between Swedesford Road and Route 63 (Welsh Road), and on Route 63 (Welsh Road) from Stump Road through the intersection with Route 202 (DeKalb Pike). Crews will relocate utility poles and pave widened sections of both roads at the Parkway’s southern terminus.
Drivers should anticipate delays and add extra time for travel through the construction areas. All planned work is contingent on the weather.
PennDOT is investing more than $200 million in state funds to build the nine-mile long Route 202 Parkway in Bucks and Montgomery counties and to improve roads approaching the Parkway’s entrances.
