King of Prussia - Motorists in Montgomery and Bucks counties may encounter periodic travel restrictions next week (Dec. 5-9) on several roads for ongoing Route 202 Parkway construction, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said today.
In Montgomery County, drivers in Upper Gwynedd, Lower Gwynedd and Montgomery townships will face slow-moving traffic and occasional single-lane conditions Monday through Friday (Dec. 5-9) from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. on Route 63 (Welsh Road), where crews are paving and completing widening operations between Stump Road and Bell Run Boulevard.
Periodic lane closures also will be in place on Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) between Swedesford Road and Route 63 (Welsh Road) for utility relocation and road widening on Monday through Friday (Dec. 5-9) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In Bucks County, periodic daytime lane closures with flaggers are scheduled Monday through Friday (Dec. 5-9) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Upper State Road between County Line and Pickertown roads in Warrington and New Britain townships for widening at intersections.
Occasional lane closures also will occur on Route 152 (Limekiln Pike) at locations in Warrington and New Britain townships between Stump Road and Route 202 (Butler Avenue), and on Lower State Road between Almshouse and Wells roads in Doylestown Township on Monday through Friday (Dec. 5-9) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Drivers should anticipate slowdowns and add extra time for travel through the construction areas. All planned activities are contingent on the weather.
PennDOT is investing more than $200 million in state funds to build the nine-mile long Route 202 Parkway in Bucks and Montgomery counties and to improve roads approaching the Parkway’s entrances.
