King of Prussia – Route 202 Parkway construction may result in traffic slowdowns in Bucks and Montgomery counties next week (April 23-27) as the new, $200 million roadway heads toward completion this fall, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said today.
Motorists in Montgomery, New Britain and Doylestown townships will encounter short-term lane closures and potential single-lane traffic patterns at intersections along Route 202 (Butler Avenue) between Route 309 (Bethlehem Pike) and Route 611 for installation of new traffic signal components on Monday through Thursday (April 23-26) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Construction to widen Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) and Route 63 (Welsh Road) in Upper Gwynedd, Lower Gwynedd and Montgomery townships, Montgomery County may result in delays next week (April 23-27) as the contractor builds the southern terminus of the Parkway. Crews are rebuilding the west side of Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) as well as the south side of Route 63 (Welsh Road) to widen each road to four lanes approaching the nearby Parkway entrance.
Intermittent lane closures may occur Monday through Friday (April 23-27) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Route 202 (DeKalb Pike) between Swedesford Road and Route 63 (Welsh Road), and on Route 63 (Welsh Road) between Stump Road and North Wales Road.
On-going installation of the Parkway’s Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) will cause lane and shoulder closures on the Route 611 and Route 202 bypasses in Doylestown Township, Bucks County.
Periodic lane closures will be in place in both directions on the Route 611 Bypass near the interchange with Route 202 on Monday through Thursday (April 23-26) from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for conduit installation.
ITS installation also will require shoulder closures on the southbound Route 202 Bypass between the East State Street and Route 611 interchanges and on the southbound Route 611 Bypass between the Limekiln Road/N. West Street and Route 202 interchanges on Monday through Thursday (April 23-26) from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Drivers should anticipate delays and add extra time for travel through the construction areas. All planned activities are contingent on the weather.
PennDOT reminds motorists they can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions on major highways before heading out. |
