King of Prussia – A series of travel restrictions are scheduled this week (Aug. 24-29) on Route 202 between Paoli Pike and High Street in West Goshen Township, Chester County, as crews continue to replace deteriorated concrete pavement on the four-lane highway, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said today.
Weather permitting, the contractor’s schedule for this week is:
• Tuesday through Thursday (August 24-26) – One lane will be closed on northbound and southbound Route 202 between Westtown Road and Paoli Pike in West Goshen Township, Chester County, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning for shoulder reconstruction;
• Wednesday and Thursday (August 25-26) – One lane will be closed on southbound Route 202 between Matlack Street and High Street in West Goshen Township, Chester County, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. the next morning for concrete patching; and
• Friday through Sunday (August 27-29) – One lane will be closed on southbound Route 202 between Matlack Street and High Street in West Goshen Township, Chester County, from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday for concrete replacement.
PennDOT advises motorists to allow more time for travel along Route 202 during construction because backups will occur. This work schedule is dependent on the weather.
The road construction on Route 202 is part of PennDOT’s $19,377,081 project to rehabilitate and improve 4.3 miles of Route 202 between the Route 100 Interchange and High Street in Chester County. The project is funded through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.
Allan A. Myers, LP of Worcester, Montgomery County is the general contractor on the federally-funded project, which is scheduled to finish in Dec. 2011.
PennDOT reminds motorists they can log on to 511pa.com or call 511 from any phone to check traffic conditions on major highways before heading out. |
