U.S. 202 SOUTH EXIT TO U.S. 30/BUSINESS U.S. 30 INTERCHANGE RESTRICTED FOR PAVEMENT REPLACEMENT IN C
King of Prussia, PA – The southbound U.S. 202 exit to the U.S. 30 and Business U.S. 30 Interchange is reduced from two-lanes-to-one in East Whiteland Township, Chester County, for the replacement of deteriorated concrete pavement, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The pavement improvement operation is part of a $26.4 million project to complete the final phase of the U.S. 202 Section 300 improvement project, which includes the rehabilitation of two bridges over Amtrak rail lines. Crews working behind construction barrier are currently removing and replacing the deteriorated concrete from the right lane and shoulder on southbound U.S. 202 from south of the Planebrook Road bridge to the U.S. 30 and Business U.S. 30 Interchange. When completed later this year, traffic will shift to the rebuilt side of the ramp, and concrete replacement will begin on the left lane for much of 2018. In late 2018, deteriorated concrete pavement will be replaced from the U.S. 30 ramp to northbound U.S. 202 in two stages. Motorists are advised that backups will occur on southbound U.S. 202 approaching the U.S. 30 Interchange, especially during peak travel times. Drivers heading to the U.S. 30 and Business U.S. 30 Interchange are advised to remain in the right lane on southbound U.S. 202 approaching the interchange, leaving the center and left lane for motorists continuing south on U.S. 202. Allan A Myers, Inc. of Worcester, Montgomery County, is the general contractor on the project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds. For more information, visit www.us202-300.com.
