TRAVEL RESTRICTIONS SCHEDULED NEXT WEEK ON SEVERAL STATE HIGHWAYS FOR BRIDGE INSPECTIONS IN PHILADEL
King of Prussia, PA – Travel restrictions are scheduled next week on several state highways in Philadelphia and Montgomery counties for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is: • Monday, February 19, from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Rhawn Street and Strahle Street in Philadelphia; • Monday, February 19, from 10:30 AM to 1:00 PM, a left lane closure is scheduled on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Strahle Street and Rhawn Street in Philadelphia; • Monday, February 19, and Tuesday, February 20, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on Richmond Street between Cambria Street and Ann Street in Philadelphia; • Tuesday, February 20, from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled in both directions on U.S. 13 (Hunting Park Avenue) between Ridge Avenue and Clearfield Street in Philadelphia; • Tuesday, February 20, and Wednesday, February 21, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 202 (DeKalb Pike) between U.S. 202 (DeKalb Street) and Main Street in Bridgeport Borough and Norristown, Montgomery County; • Wednesday, February 21, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on 11th Street between Route 611 (Broad Street) and Darien Street in Philadelphia; • Thursday, February 22, from 8:00 AM to 11:00 AM, a left lane closure is scheduled on southbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Borbeck Avenue and Tyson Avenue in Philadelphia; • Thursday, February 22, from 10:30 AM to 4:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on northbound U.S. 1 (Roosevelt Boulevard) between Tyson Avenue and Ryan Avenue in Philadelphia; • Thursday, February 22, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, lane restrictions are scheduled on southbound Interstate 95 between the Interstate 676 and Columbus Boulevard interchanges in Philadelphia; • Thursday, February 22, and Friday, February 23, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound U.S. 202 (DeKalb Pike) between Main Street and 4th Street in Bridgeport Borough and Norristown, Montgomery County; • Monday, February 26, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound U.S. 202 (DeKalb Pike) between U.S. 202 (DeKalb Street) and Main Street in Bridgeport Borough and Norristown, Montgomery County; and • Tuesday, February 27, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on southbound U.S. 202 (DeKalb Pike) between Main Street and 4th Street in Bridgeport Borough and Norristown, Montgomery County. Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas. All scheduled activities are weather dependent. The inspections are part of PennDOT’s program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
