U.S. 202 NORTH LANE AND RAMP CLOSURES AT NIGHT NEXT WEEK FOR BRIDGE CONSTRUCTION IN CHESTER COUNTY

King of Prussia, PA – Northbound U.S. 202 will be reduced to a single lane approaching the U.S. 30/Exton Bypass Interchange, and two ramps at the interchange will be closed for several nights next week for bridge construction in East Whiteland and West Whiteland townships, Chester County, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today. The work schedule is: • Wednesday, May 16, through Friday, May 18, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, and until 10:00 AM Saturday, May 19, northbound U.S. 202 will be reduced from two-lanes-to-one between the Boot Road and Route 401 interchanges; • Wednesday, May 16 through Friday, May 18, from 8:00 PM to 5:00 AM the following morning, and until 10:00 AM Saturday, May 19, the northbound U.S. 202 ramp to Business U.S. 30 will be closed. Motorists normally using the ramp will be directed to exit at the Route 401 Interchange, and turn right onto Route 401 (Conestoga Road) to access U.S. 30; and • Friday, May 18, from 8:00 PM to 10:00 AM Saturday, May 19, the ramp from eastbound U.S. 30/Exton Bypass to northbound U.S. 202 will be closed. Motorists normally using the ramp will be directed to exit at Business U.S. 30, turn right onto Business U.S. 30 and immediately right onto the ramp to U.S. 202 North. These restrictions will allow the contractor to set up and test concrete paving equipment and pour sections of the new concrete deck for the outer half the U.S. 202 bridge over Amtrak at the southern end of the interchange. All schedule activities are weather permitting. PennDOT completed repairs and redecking of the inside half of the northbound bridge in early February under the first major stage of a $26.4 million project to rehabilitate the northbound and southbound U.S. 202 bridges over Amtrak and the U.S. 30/Exton Bypass ramp, and replace the concrete pavement on the ramps to and from U.S. 202 and U.S. 30/Exton Bypass.
