Lane Restrictions Scheduled Next Week on Several State Highways for High Friction Surface Treatment

King of Prussia, PA – Lane restrictions are scheduled on several state highways across the Philadelphia region, on Monday, July 1, and Tuesday, July 2, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, for high friction surface treatment, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.

The work locations include:

  • U.S. 202 (York Road) between Ash Mill Road and Old York Road in Buckingham Township and New Hope Borough, Bucks County;

  • The ramp from Interstate 95 to Woodhaven Road in Philadelphia;

  • Route 320 (Sproul Road) between Kent Road and Darby Road in Marple Township, Delaware County;

  • Camp Hill Road between Valley Green Road and Bethlehem Pike in Whitemarsh Township, Montgomery County; and

  • Flourtown Road between Thomas Road and Fountain Green Road in Whitemarsh Township, Montgomery County.

Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling near the work areas because slowdowns will occur. The contractor's schedule is dependent on the weather.

The work is a part of a $4.7 million project to apply high friction surface treatment to various state highways across the Philadelphia Region.

Work on the entire project is expected to be completed in March 2022.

J.D. Eckman, Inc., of Atglen, Chester County, is the general contractor in the project which is financed with 100 percent federal funds.
