U.S. 202, I-95 Among Several State Highways Restricted Next Week for Bridge Inspections in Montgomer
King of Prussia, PA – Lane closures are scheduled next week on several state highways including U.S. 202 in Montgomery County and Intestate 95 in Philadelphia for bridge inspections, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced today.
The work schedule is:
Wednesday, September 4, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled in both directions on U.S. 202 between Front Street and Washington Street in Bridgeport Borough and Norristown, Montgomery County;
Wednesday, September 4, through Friday, September 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the Interstate 76 and Broad Street interchanges in Philadelphia;
Thursday, September 5, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Schwenksville Road between Route 29 (Main Street) and Park Road in Perkiomen Township, Montgomery County;
Friday, September 6, from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, a single lane closure is scheduled on Ridge Pike between Evensburg Road and Grange Road in Lower Providence Township, Montgomery County; and
Saturday, September 7, from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, a right lane closure is scheduled on northbound I-95 between the I-76 and Broad Street interchanges in Philadelphia.
Motorists are advised to allow extra time when traveling through the work areas because slowdowns will occur. All scheduled activities are weather dependent.
The inspections are part of PennDOT’s program to inspect bridges at least once every two years to ensure the safety and overall condition of the structures.
